The Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association (EMEA) is a partner in the INVESTMED project, a project co-funded by the European. It has the aim to support the development of sustainable entrepreneurship and business initiatives, by creating a backing environment and facilitating access to new markets with the final goal of generating increased economic opportunities and jobs for young people and women.

On Thursday, October 26, INVESTMED held a workshop on “Business Angel & Venture Capital Investments for MSMEs in the Green and Blue Economies in the Southern Mediterranean.”

The primary objective of this session was to facilitate knowledge-sharing and networking opportunities between startups, entrepreneurs, and potential investors, focusing on business angels and venture capitalists.

Antoun Mouawad, VP Investment at IM, was invited to participate in the workshop during which he delivered a session titled “Investing in the MENA Region – green technology”, giving an overview of the landscape of investing in the region and sharing information about elevator pitches and indications on how to approach a Business Angel/Venture Capital firm.

The beneficiaries of this workshop were startups operating in Egypt, Lebanon, and Tunisia, as well as entrepreneurs in the ideation stage from those same countries.
